Group Personal Excess/Umbrella Liability Program
An additional layer of liability protection

If a suit is filed against you for damages — and your regular liability coverage is exhausted on your home, automobile, watercraft or recreational vehicle policy — an excess/umbrella liability policy will cover additional damages.

Personal liability coverage that addresses this risk is hard to find on the open market. A group program, on the other hand, offers access to high coverage limits and broad categories of covered liability perils at group rates and with group underwriting.

Benefit Highlights

  •   Limits available from $5 million to $30 million
  •   Broad, worldwide protection for personal injury (including libel and slander)
  •   Property damage coverage that encompasses unlimited owned and non-owned vehicles, homes and watercraft
  •   Allows for variation in participant liability limits
  •   Defense costs are paid outside policy limits
  •   Optional coverage for employment-related claims brought against the insured by domestic staff

Program Administration

  •   Choose entry frequency for new participants
  •   Request one bill for the group or have participants billed individually
  •   We will design proper participant communications and submit for your approval
  •   Each participant is provided a certificate of coverage.

Group Personal Excess is designed for directors, officers or partners of a sponsoring firm. Eligibiity for a group program typically requires a minimum premium of $50,000.

A group program will typically provide rates significantly lower than what is offered on an individual policy basis.

EXAMPLE: $650 for Group Umbrella Liability Policies 2 homes, 2 cars, 2 drivers

The premium savings can be even more attractive at higher liability limits or when a client owns multiple homes, vehicles and/or has multiple household drivers.

For each participating member of the group, we need name, address, phone and email address, plus notice of selected limit (if applicable). Additional information such as driver license numbers and loss history may be required at underwriter request for individuals seeking high limits or for participants of smaller programs.
